Precious Sunflowers is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization which exists to provide immediate financial support to families who have lost children to gun violence in their home, school, or community. We also are happy to provide workshops in the best practices to prevent bullying and teach social emotional learning skills to equip children for normal emotional health.
At Precious Sunflowers we understand the sense of devastation that comes at a time like this. 100% of the funds that we receive through donation go directly to you, the one who needs it now. Whether it is for funeral expenses, personal needs, counseling services, utility payment assistance or any area of need, we are committed to getting the funds to you as quickly as possible.
We review each case on an individual basis. Our normal maximum donation is $1000.00 in cash or gift card but we are willing to discuss options based on need.

In 2015 I faced a traumatic experience and had to leave my career of teaching and pursuit of an administrative position. For seven years I worked on rebuilding my life after loss; that included getting an MA in Biblical Studies from seminary and teaching in my church to both children and seniors. The May 24, 2022 Robb Elementary School massacre changed me. It moved me to action. I could identify with trauma and pain and loss. Trauma changes you. Trauma is permanent. Trauma effects every aspect of one's life and the trauma of losing a loved one to gun violence, requires a level of support like no other. I have to do something to affect change. I can't hear about another child dying or getting injured by an assault rifle. It is time to "write the vision and make it plain".
The vision: to see a world where guns are not so easily accessible, children can be safe in school, and gun violence does not devastate another home, school, or community.
"Education, Community, and Faith"
We believe that every child deserves a level playing field in their education endeavors regardless of race or socioeconomic status.
We believe in equipping communities with strategies to prevent bullying and promote appropriate social emotional skills for all children.
We believe in the power of the faith community to educate, uplift, and provide spiritual guidance to any and all children to prevent gun violence in our homes, schools, and communities.
